Dear Turkish citizens and Jordanian brothers and sisters,
On 1st January 2020, I assumed the office of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. I am honoured to serve in Jordan, which has historical friendship and brotherhood ties with Turkey.
As you know, Turkey was among the first countries to recognize Jordan when it declared independence in 1946. Bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1947. Our Embassy has been serving in its existing premises since 1955.
My main aim is to further develop bilateral cooperation on the basis of sovereign equality and mutual respect. Actually, our bilateral relations with Jordan is very good thanks to bilateral agreements signed during our history of 75 years diplomatic relations, reciprocal high-level visits and contributions of Turkish institutions and companies such as Turkish Airlines, TİKA, Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre and Turkey Maarif Foundation, which are the brand equities of Turkey.
3.600 Turkish citizens living in Jordan, Jordanians residing in Turkey and more than 2.000 Jordanian students who are studying in Turkish universities are acting as bridges between the two countries.
Investments of the prominent Turkish companies in Jordan and their contributions to employment are praiseworthy. Increasing and diversifying these investments are our primary targets. Although our relations in the fields of defence and security are satisfying, we believe that there is further cooperation potential in these sectors.
Sustaining reciprocal high-level visits, increasing trade volume in a balanced way as much as possible, increasing flight frequencies of Turkish Airlines, implementing useful projects by means of TİKA, introducing Turkish language, culture and art to large masses of people by means of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre and increasing academic and scientific, as well as people-to-people contacts are among our aims in the following period.
We want to state that we trust in the vision and energy of our citizens and entrepreneurs living in Jordan. We stand by them. We appreciate that our citizens, with the awareness of being representatives of Turkey, are acting in a spirit of unity. We advise you to follow our Embassy’s social media (Twitter, Facebook) accounts. In this regard, you can submit your suggestions and expectations especially about our consular services to our Embassy’s e-mail address, which is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would like to emphasize that the doors of our Embassy will always be open for you. Taking this opportunity, I would like to extend my best regards to you on behalf of my colleagues and myself.
